According to new allegations from a informant, Ghislaine Maxwell, now completing a 20-year prison term for trafficking offenses, is reportedly preparing a clemency request for review by the Trump administration.

Special Treatment Claimed at Correctional Facility

House Democrats on the judicial oversight panel revealed that a whistleblower provided evidence indicating the inmate is preparing the clemency petition. They also stated she has been receiving special treatment at the federal prison camp in Texas.

Congressman Jamie Raskin, the ranking member on the House judiciary committee, declared in a news release that the prison’s warden was “helping” the convict with document preparation and submission to support her bid for executive mercy.

The exact content of the “commutation application” remain unclear, the congressman noted.

Alleged Privileges and Special Accommodations

The representative claims that, according to the whistleblower, Maxwell has been receiving “customized” meals that are “personally delivered” to her living area, and the supervisor has individually organized exclusive visits for her and her visitors.

The visits allegedly include a “special cordoned-off area” for attendees and a variety of food and drinks for her associates.

Maxwell’s visitors were also allowed to bring computers, which the congressman characterized as an exceptional measure given the security risk and potential for unmonitored communications.

In one alleged instance, when communications failed for other inmates, Maxwell was given specific instructions about instructing her associates to contact and how personnel would connect the communication to her.

Warden as “Personal Secretary”

The source also allegedly told congressional members that when Maxwell wanted to review and edit documents “quickly”, she reportedly employed the official as her private aide.

The news release indicates that Maxwell’s correspondents would email documents directly to the supervisor, who would provide them to the inmate, for her to examine and change and return them to the official to digitize and send to the original sender.

Additional Privileges Alleged

Other privileges reportedly provided to her include time to “play with” a trainee assistance dog – a perk not “ordinarily allowed” – as well as private after-hours access to the facility's gym.

Maxwell’s attorney has not yet replied to a request for comment regarding the whistleblower’s claims.

In a statement, the White House said that it “will not discuss” on possible pardon appeals.

“Per the President's remarks, pardoning Ghislaine Maxwell is not something he has considered,” the representative added.

Recent Background

Recently, reports surfaced that she told close associates in emails from prison that she was more content at the new prison than her previous prison.

In August, she was transferred from a secure facility in Florida's capital to the minimum-security camp in the state, where most detainees are incarcerated for non-violent offenses and white-collar crimes.

The transfer, which authorities called as exceptional, occurred just shortly following she was questioned about the Jeffrey Epstein investigation by the deputy attorney general, Todd Blanche, who also once acted as the President's personal lawyer.

That interview came as the administration was facing mounting pressure to release more documents related to the ongoing probe and amid widespread conjecture around the President's own connections to the fallen billionaire and adjudicated criminal, who was found deceased in custody in that year while awaiting prosecution on trafficking accusations.

Lawmaker Reactions

Through the statement, Raskin also announced that he had dispatched a communication to Trump, demanding answers about the insider's claims, and urged the president to reject the clemency appeal.

“It would be inappropriate to approve any form of clemency to this adjudicated and remorseless sex offender,” Raskin wrote in the letter. “The government must not offer her with personal amenities, with canine interaction, with government agents waiting on her every need, or with any preferential handling or institutional privilege at all.”

The congressman asked that the official attend a public congressional hearing to discuss the revelations and also posed three questions to Trump.

He inquired whether Trump had talked about a potential commutation for Maxwell with the official or others, whether he had directed him or anyone else to provide her with the transfer or favorable and preferential treatment in detention, and whether she, her lawyers, family or representatives have made any promises to the President or his attorneys.

Raskin has asked for a reply to the questions by the specified date.

Last month, the US supreme court rejected an petition from the convict on her trafficking verdict.
